Explain Lasik Procedure

Human body is not just made of flesh and blood but there are different parts of body that make the appearance of a person appealing. Eyes are regarded as a beauty appeal of a person and it requires to be taken care. Incase of any problem is eyesight the patient intends to wear eyeglasses or prefer using contact lenses. The other way to check such use is Lasik procedure of treatment that helps in preventing the use of specs and lens. This procedure is a surgical option that helps in correcting the vision of a person. It demands many preparations that start to work before the surgical operation takes place. In the procedure of operation a thin flap is created on the eye that helps in folding within the eyes that makes the process of remodeling of the tissue with the help of laser that is done under the eyes. In this process the flap is made to reposition and the eyes are made to heal in the post period of surgery.

The Lasik procedure requires both ophthalmologists and patients to be careful in the operation. There are different procedures involved in this process-

- Preoperative process

In this process the patient who is to undergo the operation has to be kept in observation. He has to give up wearing of contact lens before operation and his corneas are required to be examined that determines its thickness and the topographer measures the contour surface. In most of the lasik procedure the patient is given an antibiotic that helps in preventing the risk of infection after the surgery.

- Process of operation

The operation of lasik procedure is done when the patient is awake and is made to respond the ophthalmologists. The patient are give slow doses of sedatives and eye drops that works as anesthesia. Here the operation of lasik procedure involves two primary steps. In the first step a flap is created in the tissue of cornea and in the second step the cornea is remodeled with the use of laser that creates a flap underneath. This flap is repositioned in the final stage of operation.

- The procedure to create flap

In the process of creating flap a ring of corneal suction is applied on the surface of eye. This is done when the eyes are held in a proper position. There are chances in the procedure of corneal suction may cause bleeding by damaging the mini blood vessels. When the suction process is high then it damages the vision of the treated eyes. The flap is created when the eyes are immobilized. This process is made with the help of blade that is made up of metal and this process is known as Intra Lasik procedure. In this process small bubbles are created with in the cornea of eyes. When a flap is inserted it is left with a pivot at its left end and this flap is folded that helps in making section of cornea. The lifting and folding of flap tends to be uncomfortable but with the Lasik procedure the positioning of flap becomes easier and can be repositioned easily by the surgeon. This even helps the checking the air bubbles and positioning of the flap fitted in eyes.
